You send your 10yr old to get dressed...

...in his school uniform.
This what he comes down in!!!

No it wasn't mufti or activity day
it was just Charlie being Charlie.

Part happy, part sad...

Well, yesterday it happened...
Usually he leans on his walker and as it moves forward he falls forward...
not yesterday, he leant on his walker and as it moved forward he stepped forward...
...a handful of steps across the rug which I was lucky to (only just) capture on camera.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Also had a craft room move around...
...a certain little person gave a helping hand during this process:

...this helping hand is also the reason for the change around.
He keeps helping himself to the cupboards.
I did think that with the new layout would mean he'd go for the big drawers (which he cannot open) rather than all the way across the room to the open shelves.
NO, he now crawls under the table and straight to the open shelves.
However, this new layout does have plus points:
 the room is alot lighter,
 seems bigger,
easier to get round.

It snowed AGAIN!!!

Snowy day views from bottom of road:
Left side..
                  ...Right side
SNOWBALL FIGHTS
This is the snowball Charlie made when we walked (trekked) through the snow to the shop.
It started off as a palm sized ball which he added to all way home.
It became VERY heavy and I carried it for a bit.
He kindly told me I could add to it if I wanted...
...believe me it was heavy enough.

More is forecast for tomorrow. I love snow but I want spring now.

Photo Shoot

Yesterday was my blogs 2nd birthday!
I admit suprised I stuck it for so long and even more suprised that people read it :)
Thanks guys if it wasn't for you Scrapping & Chatting wouldn't be here.
Lately i've been given lots of special gifts (I am so lucky) and being a birthday I see a link.
Not that I was given gifts for my Blogs birthday you understand (but why not hahaha)
BUT that post is for tomorrow because something else came up today..

A good friend made me this fantastic scarf, it really is the fluffiest, sofest and most warmest scarf ever worn.
Thank you Jayne.
I wanted to showcase it on the blog so had a great idea, my little bundle of cuteness could model it for me.
All he had to do was smile at the right time...
Trouble is to him the right time was as the light went off BUT the photo actually takes a few seconds after...
Well, see for yourself...

Number 1:
This is the expression we see alot lately, I took the camera off him, he wasn't happy about this.
The camera case was a poor subsitute.

Number 2:
Cute, but for the camera case and that we missed the smile.

Number 3:
Speaks for itself...

Number 4:
Getting better...

Number 5:
We lost it...

Number 6:
YES...quit while i'm ahead :)

Just a couple of today notes:
This little one has now progressed from commando style crawling to proper onto all fours crawling.
We woke upto a blanket of thick white fluffy snow today, because it has been lovely sunshine it has gone to slushy grey stuff and then mostly melted away.

Thanks for sticking with the long post you did well.

A bit of this and that...

I can never pass a PAPERCHASE without popping in.
The eye candy is just delish!!
I also always end up buying something even if it's a packet of stickers.
Well here is my recent shop:
How stinking cute are these sticky notes.
Have already used them in Alfies journal.
Wrapping paper.
This is the type of scrapbooking paper that leaps out at me so had to have it. A WHOLE ROLL!
Already punched out some of the elements for Charlies and Alfie journal.
(more) Wrapping paper.
This is a single sheet but it's so thick.
I think to be honest I brought this just to look at.
It reminded me of the storybook illustrations from my childhood.

WARNING, bragging moment:
This layout features in this months edition of The Scrapbook Magazine.
The layout in the magazine looks quite dark but it's actually quite bright.
The bottom picture shows the title block close up.
Frame: is sissix bookplate,
He's: Charlie & Lola sticker set,
So: HOTP letter brads,
Sweet: QK dragonfly cut from flocked paper
giraffe, heart, star stickers: accessorize

A (family) catch up:
Charlies parent evening went well and his teacher is very pleased with him.
Alfie had the swine flu jab, can't really tell if had any effect as had rotten cold anyway.
Big bro brought poorly baby bro an "in the night garden" book.
Got some new glasses. (I am NEVER buying from Boots again, next year it's good old Specsavers at least the price you see is the price you pay).
Actually started work on Alfies Journal.
My nephew had his birthday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!
My other nephew (his brother) has a big plaster on his arm after a trip downstairs didn't go as smoothly as usual :(
GET WELL SOON...

IT'S BIZARRE

This is the sky outside, lovely clear blue fresh spring like day...
except...you can't see it in these photos BUT it's snowing!!!!
On and off all day, heavy snow spells with BIG flakes and the sky was like this.
How bizarre.

Charlie has started his own blog.
This title page is all his own work and if you see this header you have hit the right place.
Go check it out and make my 10 year old a VERY happy boy :)

Happy monday...

Nothing exciting...

This little laddie passed his health check yesterday, the doctor put the stethascope on his chest and as it passed his face he tried to eat it!!
He looks starved doesn't he?!
He has also started to climb down steps by crawling backwards, this is something that he started to do with no help from us. His little brain amazes me it's seems too clever for his young body.

Never underestimate the elderly:
Charlie and I walking to school and a lady with a stick came shuffling along and asked if the bus had passed. We said didn't know as just got on the street, as we passed her we could see it coming up the road so we called her and pointed to the bus.
This is no joke...she picks up her stick and runs faster than I could to the bus stop.
I daren't turn round in case she fell but Charlie watched her cos we couldn't believe it.

Well craft wise I have nothing to post because I have been working on Charlies Journal. I really need to start Alfie as well, it's amazing how quick I forget things at the moment.

Have good weekend X

2 February 2010

It was Mass today...

Charlie had Class Mass today and read his lines brilliantly.
Alfie stared at him so intently while he was reading.
We left not long after because a certain little man was being very vocal. He was chatting away but got louder and louder. The Priest asked "What do old people and babies have in common?"
Alfie shouted out a string of babble in reply, which made everyone laugh.
He is as cheeky as he looks :)
