A little bit of Faith and fairydust...

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ALL YOUR BIRTHDAY GREETINGS TO MY LITTLE MAN.
IT'S SO GREAT YOU ALL TOOK TIME TO COMMENT ON HIS SPECIAL DAY.
MAKES IT EVEN MORE SPECIAL.
IT'S GREAT HAVING FRIENDS IN BLOG LAND...

Now to an actual layout freshly made...
It's very special to me cos the photo is the very first one ever taken of Alfie James.
It was on Tims mobile:
I wanted to keep the background and embellishments soft so the focus stays on that sweet innocent new face, I hope i've achieved that.

Now for the boring details...
This layout started because I had the cut offs from Cuttlebug butterfly die and felt they were too nice to be used as recycling waste.
The word faith is from a voucher and I wanted it to be the title word.
I started off by putting cardstock behind the butterfly off cuts and then embossing the shapes. Gluing the finished pieces onto card but leave a slight overhang at the edge
Bunny is from a wooden Easter decoration.
Mini pictures are from a game which Charlie got in a party bag.
Other bits and pieces collected over time.
The handprint is Alfies and was orginally straight onto the layout but it didn't show up so re did it onto adhesive vellum.
(Alfie was not impressed with this process. Must remember not to use that navy inkpad again as it left hand stained for at least 24 hours.)
inked the edge of bottle lid and stamped over the words Heaven sent to help them stand out.
Orginally had silver foiled the stamped swirl pattern but it stood out too much so took some of the foil off with masking tape then felt had ruined it was determined not to do my usual and throw it away or start again...instead restamped it using blue ink (thank goodness for clear stamps) and it has left it  more muted look and vintage feel which suits the layout.
Title is quite random and fun because this little treasure was a total shock after trying for many years then deciding to enjoy the life and appreciate what I have.
The blue seems bright but is actually more muted in real life.
Thanks for looking

Off to go and pick up Big Bro as he's gone to friends from school. The house seems strangely quiet.

Oh Wow this is certainly one of your best peices of work
Love the way you've edged the L/O with the half butterflys and the wording used, the postage stamps are so cute.
I adore the handprint and the little embellishments you've added.
Really enjoyed this... definately going to be using some of these ideas
