A long catch up ...

This blog post has been a long time coming BUT all I would have to blog about lately is school runs and illness.

Firstly poor Alfie had a virus about a month ago and since then he has struggled to pick up and get himself better, even Charlie had time off school:

(the little tuft of hair peeping by the feet is actually a toddlers head!)

We have had a new addition to the family:

**Joey Timothy**

My toddler is no longer the baby cousin...

We also celebrated the eldest childs 12th birthday.

Time has gone soooo fast...too fast really, but he's growing into a young man whom we are very proud of.

This was celebrated in style.

First event - birthday tea at Nans house.

Second event - Cinema with friends to see (a brilliant, and highly recommended film)

followed by Pizza Hut tea...

Third, and final event - games night and pizza at Uncle Jacc and Craigs house

(Uncle Jacc does get competitive hehe)

Charllie performed in the town centre lights switch on with Starlight.

(My lad is the tall one at the back)

He has also got the job of school librarian, following an application form and interview.

Very impressed with how he is doing at senior school, even moved up a Maths group which is a major accomplishment.

Alfie has been picked to be a star in his playschool nativity next week so fingers crossed he is well.

Well that's it! Charlie will officially be a senior in September.

He is coping better than me about the whole thing, he's looking forward to moving on.

On the last day he took his camera and created lots of memories, here are a few of them...

This will be hardest part for him leaving his "gang".

He started school not knowing anyone, he had a visiting day with 4 other children and the girl closest to him was in his group. They formed a bond and became best friends all through primary. The other girl started later in the school but quickly came part of the group.

Saddly they are both going to be at different senior school to Charlie :o(

We picked up his blazer and tie today and he looked so grown up when trying them on.

A new chapter begins..

...hope he enjoys it.

Actually did some scrapbooking...

Went to Junes scrapbooking crop and made 4 layouts!!
Really enjoyed it as well and made me realise how much i have missed it.

LAYOUT 1:

Whilst on a trip to the park accidentally captured this shot of Alfie, it sums him up perfectly. Always running and  carrying cars (sometimes trains instead.)

LAYOUT 2:

This time captured Charlie climbing through a tunnel, got quite frightened by how grown up he looks and makes me realise his teenage years are upon us.

LAYOUT 3:

Alfie has started to smile as soon as he sees a camera and managed to capture this gorgeous shot of him.

We have all recently had to have passport photos taken and Charlie managed to make his look fantastic, Tim looks like a mugshot and mine...well, enough said.

Has inspired to get some more made.

Hope he's having fun...

It's a big day in the Wight household:

This little lad is at his Playschool taster session as I type...

He ran in, took his coat off, emptied the pencil tray, ran off with another little boy very happy.

Hope the fun lasts (and he isn't too mischievious).

Today, this lad finds out which character, in his year 6 "The Wind in the Willows" play, he will be acting.

He doesn't want a main part as he doesn't want to sing solo. Doesn't matter how many times his teacher tells him he should go for it.

I did tell him he had to tell his teacher he needed to phone me immediately with the news...no call though.

*Plus he has a Yr 6 sleepover at school tonight, they are taking waterguns and eating pizza. Don't remember that in my time....first time I ate pizza I was 17...

Charlie has got into his first choice of senior school.

The Top Hat was a loan from Uncle Jacc costume department. "Thank you".

It was another hit :o)

This boy is a non-stop growing 11 year old...

...loves to look cool,

...looking forward to senior school, just wants to know where he's headed,

...has a great group of friends,

...is very well mannered,

...hates getting his haircut,

...hates people copying him,

...is a Facebook addict,

...loves reading...

(even enjoys Diary of a Wimpy Kid after saying wouldn't read it)

...would spend all day in Pjs,

...hates getting out of bed,

...loves chill out days,

...is a great artist,

...wants to collect garden gnomes,

...can't wait to collect his glasses on monday.

Is the best BIG BRO ever and Alfie adores him.

Alfie update...

This is a teenager trapped in a toddlers body...

rarely sleeps through the night...

 loves anything with wheels...

is a little toughie...

thinks everybody is his friend...

is saying words but loves to copy sounds more...

adores his big bro...

has a scream that goes right through you and uses it often...

is easily distracted out of a temper tantrum...

doesn't like to give kisses...

finally has (wild out of control wispy) hair...

will not eat dinner until given fork and spoon...

instists on feeding himself...

loves rice dishes and spaghetti hoops-not together...

hates crisps...

says "Thank you"...

loves ring-a-roses (esp the sneezing part)...

has found a new place to play...

empties his train box to walk round with it on his head...

hates being strapped into a pram...

wants to run everywhere...

will put his coat on when tell him time to get Charlie...

said first sentence: "come on Charlie"...

Charlie turned 11.

No party this year, instead we went to...

This is just Alfies presents he could open his own Toys R Us. He was overwhelmed by it all and was happy with the first car he opened.

What have we been upto??

Well...busy, busy, busy...
Charlie has had workshops to attend regarding his choice of senior school.
Alfie is still running everywhere and saying more each day.
We did the Kettering Heritage Trail and Charlie won!!
Had a pyjama day:

(he's purposely sleeping because he has pjs on)

Found a way to transport children when no trolley available..

 

We have watched Toy Story 3 more times than is healthy.

Finished Christmas shopping...need to buy cards now..

Half Term Fun...

Well, half term is over and back to the school routine. Lots of fun was had while it was here:

Caught up with friends...

Painted the windows...spooky...

Charlie met a celebrity...

Halloween party...

...hope you all had good Halloween.

Alfie now counts to 3...if you say 1, he says 2, then if you say 2, he says 3...how clever.

Charlie has started gardening club at school.

Alfie found a new place to play with his cars....

...Charlie has been making BOTs all by himself :0)

...Alfie has been learning that not all animals are to be treated as huge dogs :0)

*been learning that it's not easy to mount stamping up stamps (grrr, mental note: buy the ones with pre cut rubber)...

*checking out senior schools for Charlie...

*had forgotten how scary it was when you children have night frights...
